Very heavy rain likely in Coastal Karnataka
Mangaluru, May 16, 2022: IMD has warned heavy rainfall in Coastal Karnataka for the next few days. While it is orange alert on May 17 and 19, the IMD has issued red alert on May 18. It is likely to rain between 100 mm to 200 mm on these days.
Deputy Commissioners of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district have asked fishermen not to venture into the sea. They have asked the parents to ensure children do not go to the low-lying areas and nearby water bodies.
The DCs have directed the district and taluk level officials to be present at the headquarters.

Day 3 Valid 8.30 am of May 19: Heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely to occur over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 205 mm. Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Day 4 Valid 8.30 am of May 20 : Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 115 mm.
Day 5 Valid 8.30 am of May 21: Heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka when rainfall shall exceed 65 mm
