Bengaluru, May 16, 2022: The National Dengue Day and Awareness Jatha were organized by the Health Department and BBMP today.

Health Department Commissioner D Randeep and BBMP (Health) Special Commissioner Dr. Thrilok Chandra inaugurated the events.

On the occasion, three PHCs, two health workers, and five private institutions/hospitals/laboratories were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in the mosquito control program.

The event was attended by the Senior Regional Director, Government of India Ravikumar. K, Director, Health and Family Welfare M. Indumathi, Chief Health Officer Balasundar, and other officials were present.

A jatha was held on the occasion to create awareness about the spread of Dengue and the measures to control it. The Jatha was held from Gandhi Park of MG Road to the BBMP Central office.

More than 800 people, including BBMP officials, doctors, junior women health assistants, ASHA workers, and office-bearers of the local NGO participated in the Jatha.
