IMD issues red alert for Coastal Karnataka districts

Udupi, Sept 06, 2022: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert on September 7 and an orange alert on September 6, Sept 8, and Sept 9 for the three Coastal districts.

Following this, the Udupi district administration has asked people to stay away from water bodies. The fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea.

Also, people in the low-lying areas that are likely to face flooding have been asked to move to safer places. People have been advised not to stand below electric polls, buildings, and near or below trees.
