State Struggles with Collapsing Law and Order: MLA Kamath
Mangaluru, July 16, 2023: Mangalore City South MLA Vedavyas Kamath has alleged that the series of killings has rocked the state ever since the Congress-led government, under the leadership of Siddaramaiah, assumed power.
Expressing concern, the MLA emphasized the deterioration of law and order in the state.
“Historically, instances of violence, communal riots, and killings have surged during the tenure of Congress governments in the state

There have been several cases including the shocking killing of a Jain muni, a double murder in Bengaluru, and the tragic murder of Venugopal, a Yuva Brigade activist. The MLA stated that the home department seems to have little control over the police department, thereby allowing anti-social elements to act with impunity. Urging swift action, he called upon the government to promptly address these distressing incidents.
“Historically, instances of violence, communal riots, and killings have surged during the tenure of Congress governments in the state. Unfortunately, this worrisome trend has become evident within a short span of a month and a half under the present Congress government. The prevailing situation can be attributed to the government’s misplaced priorities, with their focus on transfers and other matters overshadowing the crucial need for people-centric governance,” he said.
He demanded the government to refocus their efforts on ensuring governance that fosters a sense of safety and security among the populace.
