KMC Manipal hosts ‘Uveitis Pe Charcha’
Manipal, March 01, 2023: Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, MAHE Manipal, in collaboration with Udupi Ophthalmic Society (UDOS), organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “Uveitis Pe Charcha” at the Interact Lecture Hall, KMC, Manipal on February 26.
The event was conducted under the aegis of Uveitis Society of India and Karnataka Ophthalmic Society (KOS). The CME aimed to highlight the importance of subspecialties in improving patient care and providing the latest advancements in uveitis management.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Padmaraj Hegde, Dean of KMC, Manipal, who emphasized the significance of subspecialties in healthcare and applauded the advancement in uveitis management at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
The guests of honour included Dr. Sudarshan S, Secretary of Uveitis Society of India, Dr. Krishna Prasad Kudlu, President of KOS, Dr. Srinath Kamath, President of Udupi District Ophthalmic Society, and Dr. Shiran Shetty, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
Dr. Yogish S Kamath, Professor & Head of Ophthalmology and Organizing Chairperson, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Soumya S, Organizing Secretary, presented the vote of thanks. Distinguished speakers from across India gave talks on various aspects of uveitis, and the CME was attended by ophthalmologists and postgraduate students from various colleges in Karnataka.
The event also included an OEU Alumni Rolling Trophy for Debate, which was awarded to the winner, Dr. Krutika Reddy from Sankara Eye Hospital, Shivamogga, by the grand jury member, Dr. Lavanya Rao. Moreover, an exciting Quiz was conducted, which saw the participation of 13 teams, and the winners were Dr. Shreeya and Dr. Harshith from AJ Hospital, Mangalore.
The CME program “Uveitis Pe Charcha” was a grand success, enabling ophthalmologists and students to gain insight into the latest advancements in uveitis management and to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field.
