Red alert issued for Coastal Karnataka
Udupi, July 09, 2021: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alert for Coastal Karnataka districts on July 11 and July 12.
According to the bulletin issued by the Bengaluru desk at 1 pm today, Dakshina Kannada is likely to witness very heavy rain for the next few days. The intensity will increase on July 11 and 12 where the region is likely to record extremely heavy rainfall.
Day 1 valid until 8.30 am of July 10: Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all
the districts over Coastal Karnataka.
Very Heavy Rainfall (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal
Karnataka.
Day 2 valid until 8.30 am of July 11: Very Heavy Rainfall (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Day 3 valid until 8.30 am of July 12: Extremely Heavy Rainfall (>= 204.5mm ) : likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Day 4 valid until 8.30 am of July 13: Extremely Heavy Rainfall (>= 204.5mm ) : likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Day 5 valid until 8.30 am of July 14 : Very Heavy Rainfall (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
