Mangaluru, Nov 05, 2024: In preparation for the upcoming Kambala event set to take place on November 17 and 18 at Pilikula, officials and elected representatives conducted an inspection of the Kambala track on Monday.

The inspection was led by MLA Umanath Kotian and MLC Manjunath Bhandari, along with Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, who reviewed the arrangements and facilities needed for the event.

The Kambala track renovation is nearly complete, and preparations are underway to provide essential facilities for the participating buffaloes and spectators. The inspection focused on ensuring all necessary arrangements for participants and public amenities for the expected crowd.

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan instructed the Pilikula Nisargadhama Authority to oversee the preparations and requested Mangaluru City Corporation to manage vehicle parking. He also directed the Pilikula Authority to provide electricity, restrooms, and other essential facilities for the event.

Additional arrangements include setting up entrance gates, illuminating the Guttu House, and implementing crowd management measures. Authorities expect over 150 pairs of buffaloes to participate, with an anticipated attendance of more than 25,000 spectators.

Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner CL Anand, Pilikula Development Authority Commissioner Rashmi, Assistant Director of Youth Services and Sports Department Pradeep D’Souza, and district Kambala Committee President Devi Prasad Shetty, along with other officials, were present during the inspection.
