Youth Must Shape Their Future Through Education and Hard Work, Says Udupi DC
Udupi, Sept 221, 2024: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidya Kumari emphasized the importance of youth focusing on education and self-development rather than wasting time on unnecessary distractions.
Speaking at the Udupi District Youth Festival held at Amrith Garden, she encouraged young people to make strong decisions that will shape their future and contribute to the nation’s progress.
The event, organized by the Udupi district administration in collaboration with the Zilla Panchayat, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, Lions Club Amrith, and the Tenkannidiyur Government First Grade College, aimed to motivate youth toward academic and personal growth.
Dr. Vidya Kumari highlighted the importance of building unity and social harmony in India and called for young people to embrace constitutional values of equality, regardless of caste or creed.
“India’s youth are our greatest asset. With proper guidance, they can significantly contribute to the nation’s development,” she said, urging them to make full use of educational opportunities and resources like libraries.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Prateek Boyal noted that the Youth Festival serves as a platform for fostering national integration, communal harmony, brotherhood, courage, and adventure among the youth. He also spoke about the significance of International Peace Day in promoting the values of peace and harmony in society.
The event featured a variety of competitions, including folk dance, folk songs, storytelling, poetry writing, painting, and poster-making. Attendees included Red Cross State Board member V.G. Shetty, Lions Club Amrith officials, and various college students. The program was coordinated by Assistant Director of Youth Empowerment and Sports Roshan Kumar Shetty, who welcomed and thanked the participants.
