Mangaluru, Feb 19, 2024: In a grand spectacle of spirituality and devotion, Srinivas University, led by Chencellor Dr A Raghavendra Rao is set to organize the Prathishta Mahotsava of Lord Srinivasa at the serene “VAIKUNTA” within the picturesque Srinivas Campus, Valachil, Mangaluru.

The two-day celebration kicks off on Feb 21, commencing with a procession of Lord Srinivasa to the newly constructed temple. The consecration ceremony is scheduled for the wee hours of Feb 22. A highlight of the event is the grand Srinivasa Kalyanotsava organized for devotees in the evening of the 22nd.

In a press conference, Dr. CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, also the President of A. Shama Rao Foundation, expressed the momentous nature of Lord Srinivasa’s arrival from Tirumala Tirupati to the Valachil campus. Emphasizing the universal significance of Lord Srinivasa, he described the deity as a purifying force, cleansing the atmosphere for everyone. The Chancellor urged all to attend, highlighting the positive impact of the Pratishthapana ceremony, Bhajans, Sankeerthanas, and recitations of Vishnu Sahasranama, inviting attendees to make the campus the Lord’s abode.

This spiritually enriching event encompasses a rich tapestry of sacred rituals and cultural festivities. The morning of the 21st will feature solemn ceremonies such as Laxminarayana Homa, Vayusthuthi Punashcharana Havana, Shanthi Prayashchitha Homas, and the recitation of Vishnu Sahasra Namavali. The day will conclude with a vibrant procession and traditional rituals like Adhivasahoma and Shayyadhivasa Kalasha Mandala.

As the sun rises on the 22nd, the auspicious Gana Homa and Prathishta Prasanna Pooja will continue the festivities. The highlight is the Prathishta ceremony itself at 7:40 AM under the divine Kumbha Lagnam, featuring Kalashabhisheka, Vishnu Sahasra nama Havana, Kalpokta Pooja, Dhampathi Pooja, Mantrakshate, and Santharpane.

In the evening, the Srinivasa Kalyanotsava marks the divine union at Godhooli Lagnam, continuing into the night with joyous celebrations and fervent prayers. All devotees are invited to immerse themselves in the divine ambiance and partake in the timeless traditions, spreading the message of peace and harmony.
