Mangaluru Gathers to Commemorate Kanakadasa Jayanti, Embracing Ideals of Unity and Selflessness
Mangaluru, Nov 30, 2023: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan underscored the importance of seeking guidance from the teachings of the revered philosopher Kanakadasa for individual and societal development.
He was speaking at the district level Kanakadasa Jayanti program at Tulu Bhavan in Mangaluru on Thursday.
The DC acknowledged the pivotal role played by dasas in laying the foundation for India’s economic and social progress. He highlighted Kanakadasa’s teachings against caste-based conflicts, advocating for a selfless life and adherence to the great thinker’s principles to uplift society.
Aravind Chokkadi of Mundaje Morarji Residential School, delivered the Kanakadasa Jayanti message, elaborating on the philosopher’s profound ideals.
ZP CEO Dr Anandh K, Mangaluru Halumata Mahasabha President Basavaraj B, and Karavli Kurubara Mahasabha President KN Basavarajappa were present.
Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Rajesh G welcomed the gathering and Varuni Nagaraj compered the program.
