Mangaluru, September 30, 2023: Ananthesh V Prabhu has been elected as the president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

The KCCI held its 83rd Annual General Meeting at the Chamber’s Registered Office, culminating in the election of its new President, office-bearers, and Directors for the 2023-24 term on Sept 30.

The newly elected leadership team is as follows:

CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Managing Partner of Aruna Industries, is at the helm as the new President. He is an alumnus of St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, with a B.Com degree and holds membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Currently, he also serves as the President of Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Baikampady.

In his inaugural address, President Prabhu articulated his vision for driving economic growth and nurturing entrepreneurship in coastal Karnataka. He stressed the importance of building on the accomplishments of past leaders and championed the promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods, aiming for swifter resolution of business disputes in Mangalore.

Prabhu shared KCCI’s comprehensive plans for the region, including improving connectivity to Bengaluru, advocating for the relocation of the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) office to Mangaluru, and fostering Industry-Academia connections. He also announced the upcoming establishment of a Knowledge Centre, designed to provide essential training and support in various fields through workshops, webinars, and instructional materials.

Additionally, Prabhu emphasized KCCI’s commitment to enhancing Mangalore’s brand image by collaborating with like-minded organizations to showcase the city’s cultural heritage, pristine beaches, and diverse cuisine. The focus will be on highlighting Mangalore’s potential as an emerging IT hub, an eco-friendly tourist destination, and a thriving local business center.
