Mangaluru International Airport Clinches Three Gold Awards at Quality Concepts convention
Members from Mangaluru International Airport who bagged gold awards at the 32nd Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts in Bengaluru on September 10.
Mangaluru, September 11, 2023: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) demonstrated its commitment to quality and excellence by securing three gold awards at the 32nd chapter convention on Quality Concepts 2023 for Performance Excellence, held on September 10.
Organized by the Bengaluru chapter of Quality Circle Forum Of India (QCFI), the event took place at T John Institute of Technology, Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, under the theme “Nurture Quality Concepts for a Better Future”.

Mangaluru International Airport fielded three impressive teams: Team Emerge, Team Prime, and Team Swift. Team Emerge, hailing from environment, engineering, and maintenance (E&M) along with quality, presented their project on the ‘5S’ Implementation. Meanwhile, Team Prime, representing non-aero operations, showcased the innovative ‘Box In Box’ concept. Lastly, Team Swift, composed of terminal staff and quality experts, introduced their project titled Quick Response (QR). All three projects were distinguished with gold awards by the esteemed jury.
A total of over 490 teams participated in the event, with participants invited to highlight their achievements and innovations in various areas including quality control, Six Sigma, Lean Quality Circle, LSC, Kaizen Display, and more.

The airport spokesperson expressed, “It is truly gratifying to witness teams from diverse functional units at the airport collaborating and devising award-winning solutions in their respective fields, a recognition well-deserved at the quality convention.”
