Udupi: Holiday for schools and Colleges on July 25

Udupi, July 24, 2023: With the continuous rains lashing across Udupi district and the Meteorological Department issuing an orange alert for heavy rainfall, the Deputy Commissioner, Dr Vidya Kumari has declared holiday for schools and Colleges on July 25.

The holiday has been declared for anganwadi centres, primary, high school, pre-university colleges, Degree, Diploma ITI and Engineering Colleges in all taluks of Udupi district on July 25. The holiday has been declared in in light of the weather forecast. The IMD has issued red alert for Coastal Karnataka districts.

This decision was ordered by K. Vidya Kumari to avoid any potential risks posed by the inclement weather.

The red alert issued by the Meteorological Department indicates the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall in the region.
