 Shirva: St Mary’s College celebrates International Day of Yoga

Shirva, June 21, 2023: The NCC unit of St. Mary’s College- Shirva, in collaboration with the 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi, conducted the International Day of Yoga at Fr. Henry Castellino Auditorium of the college today.

In his presidential address, Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, the Principal of the college, emphasized the importance of Yoga in today’s fast-paced world. He stated that yoga plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy mind and body.

He also commended the NCC unit of the college for organizing such a remarkable program and extended his best wishes.

Guiding the program was Lt. K. Praveen Kumar, the NCC officer of the college.

During her introductory speech, Cadet Ashika explained the purpose and significance of the program, highlighting how yoga, originating in the Indian subcontinent, has been practiced by yogis since ancient times.

Lance Corporal Anish Bhat and cadets were present in this programme. Cadet Anul Nayak and Alister Sujoy Dsouza assisted. Lance Corporal  Shettigar Hemasree Sudarshan welcomed, Cadet Sonali Kulal compered the program and Krithika   proposed the vote of thanks.
