Mangaluru, April 13, 2023: The process of filing nominations for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections has officially begun. The first day of filing of nominations saw two candidates stepping up to file their candidature from the Mangaluru City North assembly constituency.

Yashodha from the Karnataka Rastra Samithi and Supreeth Kumar Poojary from the JD(S) have filed their nomination papers as the first candidates from the constituency. Yashodha is contesting as an independent candidate while Supreeth Kumar Poojary is the official candidate of the JD(S).

As of now, there have been no nominations filed from Belthangady, Moodabidri, Mangalore City South, Mangalore, Bantwal, Puttur and Sullia constituencies. The filing of nominations will continue until the last date on April 20, 2023.

Scrutiny of nominations will be held on April 21. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 24. Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M, who is also the District Election Officer, said that polling will be held on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
