Udupi, Feb 14, 2023: The Mandarti Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple’s annual festival is currently underway from February 13 to 15 in Udupi. To maintain a peaceful and orderly environment during the festivities, liquor sales have been prohibited in Heggunje and Shirooru villages, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Brahmavar Police Station.

As per an order issued by the Udupi district Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Kurma Rao M., all bars, restaurants, and wine shops selling liquor are required to remain closed from 6 pm on February 13 to midnight on February 15.

The ban on liquor sale aims to promote a peaceful and safe environment during the festival, as large crowds are expected to gather for the celebrations.
