Officials raid shops, register case under COTPA
Udupi, Dec 20, 2022: In a move to implement COTPA effectively in the district, the Udupi Taluk Tobacco Control Investigation Team conducted raids in Puthige and Perdur area on Monday.
Hotels, bars, tobacco shops and restaurants were raided and 29 cases were registered under Sections 4, 6(a), and 6(b). Rs 43,000 was collected as fine.
Udupi Taluk Health Officer Dr. Vasudeva Upadhyaya, Senior Health Inspector Devappa Patagar, and other officials were present.
