Tobacco violation: 28 cases booked in Udupi
Udupi, May 21, 2022: The District Tobacco Control Cell has booked 28 cases under COTPA.
The team had conducted raids on the shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants selling tobacco in Udupi taluk.
Twenty-eight cases were registered under sections 4, 6(a), and 6(b) of the Act, and a fine of Rs 2,100 was collected. Notice was issued to 12 shops.
On this occasion, The Administrative Medical Officer of Shirva Community Health Centre Dr. Subramanya Rao, Senior Health Officer K S. Venkatesh, Senior Health Inspector Devappa Patgar, Block Health Education Officer Chandrakala, District National Tobacco Control Cell’s Social worker Shyla Shyamanur, ASI Sheena Salian were present.
