Dharmasthala Lakshadeepotsava celebration commences
Dharmasthala, Nov 19, 2022: With the commencement of the Lakshadeepotsava celebration, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala is bustling with activities.
The buildings in the temple vicinity including, Basadi, Bahubali Betta, and lodges have been illuminated. Devotees have started arriving to witness and participate in the exhibition and various religious and cultural events being held as part of the Lakshadeepotsava celebration.
Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja inaugurated the State level exhibition. Dharmadhikari and Rajya Sabha member D Veerendra Heggade presided over the function.
Over 200 stalls including agriculture, health, commerce, and animal husbandry attracted the people. People also visited the garden, Manjusha museum, Car museum, Basadi, and Sri Manjunatheshwara Samskruti Samshodhana Pratistana.
According to temple officials over 25,000 devotees had lunch on Saturday afternoon. Volunteers were seen guiding the devotees and making necessary arrangements and ensuring a hassle-free environment.
The main event on Saturday was the Padayatra held every year as part of the Lakshadeepotsava celebration. Over 25,000 devotees participated in the Padayatra from Ujire to Dharmasthala, singing Bhajans and chanting the Shiva Panchakshari mantra.
This is the decennial year of Padayatra. D Veerendra Heggade was felicitated on the occasion.
