Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 15.36 lakh
Mangaluru, Sept 25, 2022: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold worth Rs 15.36 lakh on September 24.
The officials intercepted a male passenger hailing from Bantwal who arrived from Dubai and attempted to smuggle gold in paste form. The gold was concealed inside the vest (Baniyan) and underwear worn by him.
After extraction, the gold was formed into a rectangular bar of 24 carat, weighing 306 grams in net and valued at Rs 15,36,120.
Further investigation is in progress.
