MAHE: Workshop on Human musculoskeletal system and vital organ functions held
MAHE-Division of Anatomy, Department of Basic Medical Sciences in association with MAHE-IASK –D0 Manipal Dojo, Manipal Organizes first of its kind Unique Workshop
Manipal, Sept 13, 2022: Division of Anatomy, Department of Basic Medical Science (DBMS) faculty in association with MAHE- IASK- Do, Manipal Dojo organized Human musculoskeletal system and vital organ functions- a basic anatomical and clinical workshop for karate instructors.
The event was the first of its kind initiative of MAHE -DBMS for the Karate and Martial art instructors to familiarize them with the Human musculoskeletal system and vital organ functions. This would help them understand the methods of prevention of injuries to vital organs during training youngsters in Marital Arts.

Inaugurating the one-day workshop, Dr. Arun G Maiya, Dean, Manipal College of Health professionals, MAHE stressed the need of creating awareness of human anatomy for trainers for high-risk sports activities such as Karate and Martial Arts.
He said such workshops will ensure the prevention of major and fatal injuries during the training period and added that the DBMS has taken the initiative for society.

Welcoming the gathering the In-charge coordinator of the Anatomy division of DBMS, MAHE Dr. Bincy M George briefed the participants about the idea of the workshop.
Dr. Ullas Kamath – Dean, MMMC, Manipal Campus and Shihan Nishanth B Bhat (Chief Instructor-MAHE-IASK-Do Manipal Dojo, Technical representative of Indian Academy of Shito-Ryu Karate-Do(IASK-DO)for Karnataka ) were present at the inaugural function.

The faculty of DBMS- Division of Anatomy, MAHE conducted various sessions in the workshop with a live demonstration of vital organs from the Cadaver in the anatomy Dissection Hall, in MMMC, Manipal campus.
Dr. Shyamsundar Bhat, Professor, and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
Shihan Nishanth B Bhat, Manipal Dojo proposed the vote of thanks.
