Kundapur: Woman robbed of gold jewellery
Kundapur, Aug 06, 2022: A woman who was waiting for a bus at the bus stand was robbed of her golden ornaments at Korgi in Kundapur rural police station limits on Friday evening.
According to the complaint, on August 5 evening at around 4.30 pm, Devaki (35) had gone to bring her son from school. She was waiting for the bus at the Korgi cross, between 4.15 pm and 4.25 pm, when a stranger hit on her head with an iron rod.
Devaki fell to the ground. When he tried to rob Mangalasutra, Devaki tried to escape. He again hit her and robbed the golden Mangalasutra, a bangle, and a ring and then escaped from the spot.
According to the complaint the total worth of the robbed gold is estimated to be around Rs 1.60 lakh.
Based on Devaki’s father Rama Poojary’s complaint, Kundapur Rural police have registered a case under IPC Section 397 (Robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt.)
Devaki has been taken to a hospital for treatment.
