Forensic Science department students visit District Prison
Mangaluru, June 29, 2022: Students of Masters in Forensic Science and Masters in Forensic Science and Criminology visited the district prison at Mangaluru as part of their academic project on June 28.
The visit was organized by the Department of Forensic Science, Srinivas University in collaboration with the District Prison.
The purpose of this visit was to learn the functions and procedures of correctional administration and to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom, practically.
Imah Kashim, Jailor was the resource person. He explained the current developments, history, and infrastructure of prison and the hierarchy of prison officials.
He led the students to the nursery maintained by the inmates.
After visiting the female prison, Shafeena took the students to the study hall. The program concluded with the students giving a memento to T.B Obeleshappa, Prison Superintended.
