Take measures to prevent Dengue: Dr Rajendra
Mangaluru, May 12, 2022: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V has instructed the officials and public to take precautionary measures to prevent Dengue.
He was chairing a meeting on the control of communicable diseases at his office on Thursday.
“Dengue is more likely to occur after the onset of the rainy season. It is advisable to use mosquito nets or mosquito repellents. People to cooperate with the Health officials and ASHA workers visiting the houses during the larvae survey,” he said and asked the public to follow the instructions given by the health department officials.
The DC said that many cases of Malaria and Dengue are being reported in the Port area. As the mosquitos breed in the stagnant water in the boats, the DC asked the officials to inform the boat owners and fishermen to take the necessary steps.
“Before the schools reopen, the teachers should visit the schools and ensure that there is no water logging around. Women and Child Welfare Department officials should keep all Anganwadi Centers clean,” he said and asked the Anganwadi workers to participate in the fever survey program.
He asked the people to contact the doctors if they have a high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eye, pain in muscles and joints, nausea, vomiting, and small blisters on the body.
District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Kishore and other officials were present.
