Mangaluru, Feb 24, 2022: A Workshop on “Fire and Safety” was held at Srinivas University Mukka campus on Feb 23.

The program was organized by the Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, College of Allied Health Science as part of the “Fire Prevention and awareness week.”

Dr. Anil Kumar, Registrar Srinivas University, Dr. Uday Kumar Rao, Dean, SIMS&RC, Devaseelan S, Dean, College of Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University, Dr. Vrinda J Bhat, Professor, and Head, Department of Forensic Medicine, SIMS&RC inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.

Dr. Vrinda J Bhat gave a speech on fire and its impact. The major focus of the talk was on Fire Forensics and its need in the field of forensic investigation.

More than 150 delegates attended the workshop.

Mahmed Zulfikar Nawaz K.P., District Fire Officer, and Sunil Kumar, Assistant Fire officer were the chief guests.

Mahmed Zulfikar Nawaz explained about different types of fire, their classification and demonstrated a few types of equipment that are used in extinguishing the fire.

Further after the deliberations, firefighters demonstrated various types of fire extinguishers and their usage.

Swathi D, Course Coordinator, Department of Forensic Science welcomed the gathering, Lavanya P S, Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Science introduced the guests Sahil C, Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Science delivered the vote of thanks.
