Extremely heavy rainfall likely in Coastal Karnataka, IMD issues red alert

Udupi, July 18, 2021: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the coastal districts till July 20 morning.

Coastal Karnataka districts are witnessing heavy rainfall for the last few days. The intensity is likely to increase during the next two days.

According to the forecast issued at 1 pm today, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts are very likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall (above 204.5 mm) at most places till 8.30 am on July 20.
