IMD issued Red Alert: Coastal Karnataka likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall
Udupi, June 14, 2021: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for coastal Karnataka districts.
The forecast issued at 1 pm on Monday warns of extremely heavy rainfall at most of the places in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts till June 16 morning.

Thunderstorms with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Heavy to very heavy rain (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls (more than 204.5 mm) likely to occur over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Day 2 valid until 8.30 am of June 16:
Thunderstorms with lightning likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Heavy to very heavy rain (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls (more than 204.5 mm) likely to occur over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.
