World Environment Day: Coast Guard Karnataka organizes awareness program

Mangaluru, June 05, 2021: They are on a mission. While the Indian Coast Guard toils round the clock to keep the Sea clean from anti-social activities and pollution, today on the occasion of World Environment Day the Coast Guard team organized various programs to sensitize personnel on environmental issues.
Over 300 saplings were planted in the Coast Guard Residential Area and Headquarters. Beach cleaning was carried at Panambur beach on the occasion.
The Officers, Men, Civilian Staff, and their families along with stakeholders such as Coastal Security Police (CSP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and members of Surf Club joined hands in conducting activities to spread the “Environmental Awareness.”
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hariram Shankar was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
He emphasized the need of protecting the fragile environment by collective efforts and contributions and lauded the efforts of the Coast Guard.
