Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar arrested
Mangaluru, March 29, 2021: Mangaluru City Police have arrested Rama Sene founder Prasad Attavar for allegedly cheating a professor.
According to the complaint that Police have registered Vivek Acharya introduced Prasad Attavar to a Professor of Mangaluru University.
Prasad Attavar made the professor believe that he has high contacts with influential persons in the state as well as at the national level. He also made the professor believe that he could get any works done through his contacts.

He showed the photos which he had clicked with the influential leaders and assured the professor to make him Vice-Chancellor of Raychur University. He demanded ₹30 lakh and forcefully took ₹17.5 lakh. For the remaining amount, he took three blank cheques.

Prasad Attavar allegedly cheated the Professor and also did not repay the money. When the Professor tried to contact and ask for the money, Prasad allegedly scolded him and threatened him.
Following this, a case was registered at Kankanady Town Police Station under IPC Section 406 (Criminal breach of trust), 417 (Cheating), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 506 (criminal intimidation) along with 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

Based on the complaint, police have arrested Prasad Attavar.
The accused has several cases against him. He was also accused in the Mangaluru Pub attack case of 2009. Though he was heading Sri Rama Sene, Prasad formed his outfit Rama Sene after differences with Pramod Muthalik. According to sources he had also joined BJP.
