Solar street light batteries stolen

Shirva, November 21, 2020: Thieves have stolen the batteries of solar street lights in Mudarangadi Gram Panchayat of Udupi district.

In a complaint the Panchayat Development Officer Suresh has complained that 12 lights put in 8 places have been stolen. Though the exact date of theft is not clear, the PDO suspects it to have been stolen before November 5.

The total worth of these lights is about ₹60,000. Based on the complaint, a case is registered at Shirva Police Station under IPC Section 379 (Theft).
