Grand Celebration of Srimanmahabharata Pravachana Mangalotsava at Kavoor Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple
Palimaru Matha Peetadhipati Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha Sripadaru to lead the event
Mangaluru, Nov 25: Kavoor Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple is gearing up for the Srimanmahabharata Pravachana Mangalotsava scheduled from November 28 to December 3. Palimaru Matha Peetadhipati Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha Sripadaru will spearhead the Mangalotsava, featuring an array of religious programs, including the notable Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Yaga.
In a press conference held in Mangaluru on Wednesday, Kavoor Temple’s Chief Archak, K Srinivas Bhat, and President of Mangalotsava Samithi, shared the details of the event. He said that a grand Shobha Yatra scheduled for November 28 will commence from Kavoor Circle and culminate at the temple premises. The procession will showcase the revered Mahabharata book placed on a Palanquin, marking the commencement of the Mangalotsava.
Bhat expressed his enthusiasm for the unique concept, emphasizing that the Mahabharata discourses, initiated in 2005 and held every Monday evening, have been instrumental in conveying the values of life over the past 15 years. The Mangalotsava has been organized to celebrate this significant milestone.
The event’s inauguration is slated for November 28 at 5 p.m., featuring the commencement of Jnana Satra and stage program. Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripadaru will grace the occasion. Brahmasri Narasimha Tantri Kudupu will inaugurate the program.
Throughout the event, various resource persons will participate in stage programs and deliver discourses on Mahabharata every evening. The valedictory function will be held on Dec 3 evening. Lakshminarayana Asranna, Hereditary Archak of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, will preside over the ceremony. As part of the festivities, Lakshmisha Acharya, who has diligently delivered the Sri Manmahabharata discourse every Monday evening for the last 18 years, will be felicitated.
