Expert PU College Hosts Xcelerate 2025, Inspiring Next-Gen Scientists

Mangaluru, October 25: The Expert Group of Institutions added another feather to its cap as Expert Pre-University College, Kodialbail, hosted the inaugural edition of Xcelerate 2025, an inter-school science fest that brought together promising young minds from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The fest, centred on four interactive categories — X-Quizit, X-IgnAIte, X-Zibit, and X-Sight — was designed to fuel curiosity, innovation, and scientific thinking among students.

At the inauguration, Mr. Pramod Hegde, Chairman and Managing Director of MEDITEK INDIA and Medorganics India Pvt. Ltd., inspired students with his thought-provoking words. Launching a symbolic rocket to open the fest, he said: “Science is not merely a subject — it is a way of life. Every question, every experiment takes us a step closer to understanding the universe. Innovation is born when curiosity meets courage.”
He encouraged students to keep exploring without fear of failure, adding: “Science is a journey with no final destination. The more we question, the more we discover — that is the true spirit of a scientist.”

Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Chairman of the Expert Group of Institutions, declared the fest open and urged students to cultivate persistence and passion for knowledge.
“Let your pursuit of knowledge be guided by great thinkers like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Marie Curie. Read widely — books like Men of Mathematics by E.T. Bell will show you how curiosity shapes human progress,” he said.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Ushaprabha N. Nayak, Vice Chairperson of the Expert Group, reminded students of the importance of linking theory with real-world practice.
“These high school and pre-university years are your golden period,” she noted. “What you do now will define your next six decades. Use this time to build the foundation of your dreams.”
At the valedictory, Sri Darshan H. V., Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, praised the initiative and motivated students to pursue excellence with resilience.

“Success and failure are two sides of the same coin,” he said. “What truly matters is the spirit to rise again, learn from every experience, and continue towards your goal.”
