Mangaluru, Dec 17, 2024: The upcoming Karavali Utsav, to be held after a long gap, will showcase the coastal region’s rich cultural heritage, traditional attire, cuisine, and literature, informed Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M.P.

Chairing a preparatory meeting at the DC’s office on Monday, he stated that the event will bring out the authentic culture of the coastal region through various activities featuring local communities and ethnic groups.

Tulu, Beary, Konkani, and Arebhashe Academies will collaborate to organize the programs, with full support from the district administration. A special exhibition of tribal and indigenous products will also be held. The Karavali Utsav grounds will host an attractive food fair and cultural displays starting December 21, with an inaugural procession from Kodialbail to the Karavali Utsav grounds on the same day.

The DC emphasized that the festival aims to offer tourists an opportunity to experience the region’s culture, heritage, and cuisine in a single venue. Various sub-events, including beach festivals, youth programs, and plant expos, are also planned.

Presidents of the Tulu, Beary, and Konkani academies assured their support to ensure the event’s success. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal and MCC Commissioner C.L. Anand.
