Mangaluru, June 05, 2022: About five years ago the Yettinahole project had made headlines. It had attracted strong opposition from the activists, BJP leaders, and also a few Congress leaders of the Coastal region as it could damage the nature.

While Padayatras and protests were held then, five years down the lane, nothing much is known about the progress of this project which proposes to pump water from the West flowing Yettinahole rivulet and supply it to Kolar, Chikkaballapur, and parts of Bengaluru Rural districts.

Every year the government reserves money for Yettinahole project. Work is under progress in Sakleshpur and nearby areas. This week Guys on Wheels take us to the ground zero of this project.

Dams are built, huge pipelines are laid to pump water, and excavation work is in progress. Officials frequent these places to supervise the work. While nobody knows when the project would be completed, Shailesh Ujire and Krishna Prashanth throw light on the details of the project and its progress.
