Mangaluru, March 17, 2026: Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology organised the National level Techno Cultural and Sports Fest “Tech Yuva – 2026” at Mukka Campus on March 9 and 10 under the esteemed guidance of the Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao.

Chief Guest, Shri Shyamprasad Hebbar, the Whole Time Board of Director for Diya Systems Pvt. Ltd. and GlowTouch Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and also the Global Chief People Services Officer of UnifyCX Pvt Ltd inaugurated Tech Yuva by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The program was presided over by Dr. K. Sathyanarayana Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Srinivas University.

Dr. Ramakrishna N. Hegde (Dean, SUIET Mukka), Dr. Praveen B M (Director-Research, Srinivas University), Convener of Tech Yuva Prof Shrinath Rao K, and Student Coordinators Adarsh, Sagar A., Sneha Reeshel Rodriguez, and Karthik Vernekar were also present on the dais.

In his inaugural address, Chief Guest, Shri Shyamprasad Hebbar emphasized the importance of Cyber Security Awareness in today’s digital world. He stated that cyber-attacks can lead to the loss of personal data, bank accounts, and even digital identity. He encouraged engineering students to act as cyber defenders by protecting systems and using technology responsibly. 

In his presidential address, Dr. K. Sathyanarayana Reddy said that engineering students are the future innovators and problem solvers of society. He said that although automation may replace some traditional jobs, new opportunities will emerge in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet Technologies, Cyber Security and Green Engineering. Dr Sathyanarayana Reddy advised students to focus on innovation, data skills and developing engineering solutions through R & D that will benefit the society and nation.

Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde delivered the welcome address and keynote address. Prof Shrinath Rao K introduced the Chief Guest. Dr Praveen B M delivered the Vote of Thanks. The program was compered by Prof Rohan Fernandes. Ms Dhanyashree performed the invocation.

HODs, Faculty Members, Staff, Student Coordinators, and participants from other colleges were present. More than 1,800 students actively participated in the wide range of 45 plus events organized under the Technical, Cultural and Sports categories, making Tech Yuva-26 a vibrant celebration of talent, innovation, and competitive spirit.
