FSSAI Awareness Drive in Udupi and Katpady
Udupi, June 27, 2025: The District Food Safety and Standards Authority conducted a special inspection and awareness campaign in the Udupi and Katapady areas, targeting roadside tea stalls, fruit shops, vegetable vendors, mobile canteens, and women-run raw fish stalls.
The objective of the drive was to raise awareness about hygiene, cleanliness, and quality in food preparation and distribution, in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act.
As part of the initiative, food safety licenses and registrations were issued free of cost to 133 street vendors—41 roadside vendors and 92 women-run fish stalls.
Food Safety Officer Vivek and other staff members were present during the awareness drive and inspections.
