Officials Urged to Ensure Effective Implementation of Child Protection Laws
Mangaluru, Dec 17, 2024: Child protection laws must be implemented effectively, not limited to workshops and meetings, said Dr. Tippeswamy K.T., Chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
Inaugurating an awareness workshop for officials at the Netravati Auditorium, he stressed the need for regular inspections of hostels to address children’s issues and prevent violations. He also highlighted tackling challenges like child marriage, feticide, malnutrition, and child labor, urging officials to enforce regulations rigorously.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Anand K echoed these concerns, emphasizing the role of government departments in safeguarding children’s health, education, and welfare. Officials from various departments participated in the workshop.
