‘Sakhi’ One-Stop Center Vehicle Flagged Off
Udupi, December 12: A vehicle under the Sakhi One-Stop Center scheme was inaugurated today to provide immediate support for women in distress. Operating under the Women’s and Child Development Department’s Mission Shakti, the center offers round-the-clock medical, legal, police assistance, temporary shelter, and counseling services from its facility in Nittur, Udupi.
The vehicle was flagged off by Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidya Kumari and Zilla Panchayat CEO Prateek Boyal at the District Commissioner’s Office in Manipal. The initiative aims to ensure emergency services are accessible to women in need.
The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development Department Shyamala C.K., District Coordinator Anuradha Hadimani, office staff, and representatives from the Sakhi Center and Women’s Empowerment Unit.
