Karwar, Nov 22, 2024: Karnataka’s 360-km-long coastline, rich in natural beauty, needs to be better showcased to the world and further developed to attract global attention, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters in Murudeshwar, Shivakumar highlighted the immense potential of coastal areas like Murudeshwar and Gokarna beaches, which he claimed surpass the beaches of Goa in beauty. He emphasized the need for their enhanced development to boost tourism in the region.

“To promote tourism along the coast, a new tourism policy is being drafted based on expert recommendations. We aim to attract investors to this region, which will, in turn, create more job opportunities for local youth,” he said.

He also stressed the importance of establishing large-scale investment in the coastal belt, noting that investments in the area could significantly benefit the region’s youth by providing them with employment opportunities that match their skills and knowledge.
