Karwar: Tourism Department Unveils Poster, Announces Exciting Events for World Tourism Day
Karwar, Sept 23, 2024: The district administration and the Tourism Department launched posters regarding various competitions to be held in the district as part of the World Tourism Day celebrations.
The event was held at Patrika Bhavan on Monday.
Addressing the gathering, Jayant H.V., Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, noted that tourism in the district had been hindered due to natural disasters and other reasons, but signs of recovery are now evident. To attract tourists to the district’s numerous attractions and pilgrimage sites, the district administration and the Tourism Department will organize a state-level painting camp on September 27 at 11 AM, a sand sculpture competition at the Rabindranath Tagore beach on September 28 at 4 PM, and a kite-flying competition on September 29 at 4 PM. Winners of these competitions will be awarded on September 30.
Prizes for the sand sculpture competition include ₹10,000 for first place, ₹8,000 for second, and ₹5,000 for third. In the kite-flying competition, the prizes are ₹6,000 for first place, ₹4,000 for second, and ₹3,000 for third.
