NITK Surathkal Hosts ASSETS 2024
Mangaluru, March 11, 2024: In a significant stride towards advancing sustainable energy solutions, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NITK Surathkal inaugurated the international conference “Advancements in Smart Sustainable Energy Sources Technologies and Systems (ASSETS)” today. The inaugural ceremony took place at 9:30 AM in the LHC-C, NITK Surathkal.
Prof. K. Gopakumar, the Honorary Professor at the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering, IISc Bangalore was the chief guest. Prof. B Ravi, the Director of NITK Surathkal presided.
In his inaugural address, Prof. K. Gopakumar emphasized the significance of passion, self-learning, and diligence as crucial elements for success. He urged participants to leverage the educational opportunities provided by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India.
Prof. B Ravi, the Director of NITK, underscored the importance of networking and maintaining an open mind. He encouraged attendees to amalgamate the philosophies of the western and eastern world to foster a smart and sustainable future. Stressing the need to go beyond paper presentations, Prof. Ravi urged participants to transform ideas into tangible products, file patents, and cultivate industry collaborations, viewing these as essential steps toward innovation and progress.
The two-day conference, promises to be a melting pot of ideas promoting smart and sustainable energy sources.
Prof. D. N. Gaonkar, Head of the EEE Department at NITK, along with organizing secretaries Dr. A Karthikeyan and Dr. Yashwant Kashyap, and other faculty members, were present at the inauguration ceremony, marking the commencement of this intellectually stimulating event.
