Celebrating Karwar’s Spirit: DC Sets the Tone for Upcoming Karavali Utsav
Karwar, Nov 24, 2023: Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Gangu Bai Manakar has issued directives to officials to meticulously plan and execute the celebrations of the upcoming Karavali Utsav at Rabindranath Tagore Beach in Karwar.
This announcement came during a preparatory meeting for the coastal festival, which she presided over at her office today.
Scheduled to take place in the first week of January, the Karavali Utsav is anticipated to be a vibrant celebration of culture, sports, and community spirit. The DC urged officials to organize the program in a manner that not only attracts a diverse audience but also provides a platform for local talented artists to showcase their skills in cultural programs and sports events.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of incorporating elements like cultural programs, sports events for local athletes, exhibitions, and a comprehensive program outline. The aim is to create an inclusive and engaging event that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.
With a keen eye on boosting tourism in the district, she instructed officials to utilize the festival as a catalyst for local cultural and sports promotion. The goal is to encourage participation from all taluks in the district, fostering a sense of unity and drawing tourists from various regions, both within and outside the state.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Prakash Rajput, Sub-Divisional Officers Jayalakshmi Raikode, and other key officials were present.
