Edupath Lecture Series Sheds Light on Fisheries and Allied Sciences
Mangaluru, Nov 09, 2023: The Edupath Lecture Series, designed exclusively for second PU students, recently held its fifth session featuring a talk on Science Bachelor Degree Courses and Prospects in Fisheries, Veterinary, and Other Allied Sciences. The lecture was delivered by S M Shivaprakasha, Former Dean of Mangaluru College of Fisheries.
The event, aimed at providing PCMB students with insights into potential career avenues in agro-related fields, captivated the audience with a wealth of anecdotes and technical knowledge. Enthusiastic students seeking unique opportunities were enthralled by Mr. Shivaprakasha’s discourse on the scope, eligibility, admission process, and career prospects in these domains. The distinguished speaker also generously shared his personal experiences and insights with the attentive audience.
With a blend of wit and depth, Mr. Shivaprakasha elucidated on the pivotal role of the fishing industry in both the Indian and global economies. He emphasized the significance of agriculture and aquaculture as industries poised to meet the needs of India’s burgeoning population. The session also featured an illuminating presentation on the competitive academic pathways to excel in these fields, providing invaluable insights to the students.
Addressing the students, Mr. Shivaprakasha remarked, “Fisheries Science is an ideal career path for those passionate about the management and understanding of various aspects of fisheries.” He encouraged aspiring candidates to consider pursuing a master’s degree in the same field after completing their bachelor’s program.
