Karwar, October 30, 2023: Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Gangu Bai Manakar announced elaborate plans for this year’s Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, marking the 50th anniversary of the renaming of Mysuru state to Karnataka.

On November 1, a vibrant display of red and yellow rangolis will grace the doorsteps of every household in the district, bearing the rallying cry “Karnataka Sambhrama-50″ alongside”Hesarayitu Karnataka Usiragali Kannada.”

At 9 am, the resonant strains of the Nadagithe will fill the airwaves across All India Radio. Citizens are encouraged to stand in unison and pay respect like they do for the National Anthem. As the clock strikes 5 pm, the golden jubilee kite festival will take flight, with red and yellow kites soaring high above the grounds of villages throughout the district. At 7 p.m., the illuminating flame of the ‘Kannada Jyothi’ will be kindled in front of residences, offices, and shops across all villages.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that it is incumbent upon every citizen and organization within the district to wholeheartedly partake in these celebrations to ensure the resounding success of this Golden Jubilee commemoration. This collective effort will serve as a fitting tribute to Karnataka’s rich heritage and its enduring legacy over the past five decades.
