Udupi, Oct 29, 2023: The 64th annual Sri Sharada Pooja Mahotsava, organized by Moodkeri Mitra Mandali at Adinatheshwara Temple in Basrur, became a platform to honor accomplished individuals from various fields.

Dr BV Udupa, Director of Karthik Scanning Institute, Kundapur, spoke passionately about the unifying power of festivals and the cultural significance of art, literature, and heritage.

“As festival celebrations bring us together regionally, so do art, literature, and culture culturally enrich our lives. It’s through these avenues that we can live life with enthusiasm,” Dr Udupa emphasizing the vital role of culture and traditions.

The event felicitated exceptional achievers who have made significant contributions in various domains. Shankar V, a retired physical education teacher hailing from Basrur, was acknowledged for his remarkable achievements in literature, culture, media, education, art, sports, and social endeavors. Karunakar Balkur, lecturer in the Kannada department at Expert PU College, Suma Kiran, a teacher at Pejawar Mutt Ananda Theertha Vidyalaya, and social activist Krishna Kalanji were honored for their outstanding contributions.

Manjunath Basrur, the founder of Regier in Bengaluru, presided over the event and encouraged youth to actively participate in the social and cultural programs conducted by village organizations. Ashok, Chairman of Sharada Mahotsava Committee, was present.

Committee member Shashiprasad welcomed the gathering and committee member Sarika Ashok Kerekatte compered the program.
