Mangaluru, October 18, 2023: Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences organized the Orientation Program ‘Aarambh,’ for the 1st BDS Batch 2023-24 at the Srinivas University Mukka campus today.

Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, the Pro Chancellor of Srinivas University, who was the chief guest emphasized the university’s commitment to delivering skill-based education alongside academics. He encouraged students to explore research opportunities and innovate, aiming to bring more smiles to people’s faces.

In his presidential address, Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University, shared valuable insights with the fresh batch of students. He stressed the importance of cultivating love for their profession and becoming compassionate human beings.

Dr. Rao urged students to focus on their careers and strive to benefit society from the very beginning of their educational journey. He reinforced the idea that hard work is essential to overcome challenges and achieve the seemingly impossible, all while reminding everyone of the significance of a smile in ensuring personal and collective happiness.

A. Vijayalakshmi R. Rao, a Trustee member of the Srinivas University Board of Governors, extended her wishes for the students, hoping they would lead fulfilling lives at Srinivas University.

Prof. Mitra S. Rao, another Trustee member of the Srinivas University Board of Governors, drew a parallel between dentists and soldiers, emphasizing the importance of building trust and comfort between doctors and patients. She underlined that a small oversight in dental care could have significant repercussions on overall health. Prof. Rao highlighted the role of a dentist in enabling confident smiles and the impact of their dedication and skill on people’s lives.

Padmini Kumar, also a Trustee member of the Srinivas University Board of Governors, encouraged students to develop a deep love for their profession over time. She urged them never to give up, maintain discipline, and stay focused on their work to attain their goals.

Srinivas University Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar and Dean of Srinivas Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Dr. Uday Kumar Rao were present.

Prof. Dr. K. Reshma Pai, the Dean of Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, welcomed the gathering and Dr. Praveen Shetty, Head of Orthodontics, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Sheehan Dsouza and Dr. Natasha Dsouza compered the program.
