Manipal, October 10, 2023: The division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, in collaboration with the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, recently conducted the National Training Project on Practical Pediatric Hematology at the Interact Building, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.

Dr. Archana M. V., Assistant Professor and Organizing Secretary of the CME, provided an insightful overview of the workshop. The event featured a blend of lectures and hands-on practical skill stations, offering delegates valuable training in performing procedures and central line insertions.

With over 70 delegates in attendance, the workshop fostered in-depth discussions on a range of topics within pediatric Oncology. Distinguished guest speakers from esteemed institutes across India, including the Regional Cancer Centre in Trivandrum, Narayana Hospital in Bengaluru, Malabar Cancer Centre in Thalasseri, Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital in Bengaluru, and St. John’s Hospital in Bengaluru, shared their expertise.

Dr. Vasudeva Bhat K., Head of the division, emphasized the importance of such workshops in cultivating interest among postgraduate trainees in this field. Dr. Padmaraj Hegde, Dean of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, commented, “This workshop serves as an invaluable platform for pediatricians and pediatric trainees to both learn and update their knowledge in pediatric Oncology.”
