Governor Gehlot Urges Next Generation to Embrace Karanth’s Vision
Udupi, Oct 10, 2023: Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot lauded the multifaceted achievements of Dr Shivaram Karanth in various domains of life, spanning art, literature, environment, and social service. He emphasized how Karanth’s contributions serve as a guiding beacon for society.
Governor Gehlot expressed these sentiments during the Dr. Shivarama Karanth Birth Anniversary and Huttura Prashasti Award celebration on Tuesday.
Noted Musician Dr. Vidyabhushana was honored with the Dr Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti. The program held at Dr. Shivaram Karanth Theme Park was jointly organized by Kotatattu Gram Panchayat, Dr. Shivaram Karanth Trust (Udupi), and Dr. Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti Pratistana, Kota.
Governor Gehlot envisions India as a potential Vishwa Guru (world leader) if it cultivates individuals imbued with human values, rooted in Indian culture and spirituality. He stressed the significance of harmonizing art, religion, and culture, advocating for the global dissemination of Tulunadu’s rich heritage. The Governor emphasized that the cultural legacy of art is the life force of India and encouraged motivating children in this regard.
Gehlot urged the next generation to follow the path laid by Dr Karanth who exhibited patriotism by returning his Padma Bhushan awards during the Emergency. He also acknowledged Karanth’s involvement in the Khadi Swadeshi movement, influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology.
Renowned musician Vidyabhushan opined that true recognition and accolades stem from authentic accomplishments rather than mere appropriation. He highlighted how Karanth’s philosophy aligns with this sentiment.
