Janata Darshan: Minister Hebbalkar Puts People First
Udupi, September 25, 2023: Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar asserted that it is the duty of the government and authorities to be responsive to the needs of the common man and strive to fulfill their aspirations.
She made these remarks while inaugurating the ‘Janata Darshan’ program, organized by the Udupi district administration and zilla panchayat, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Rajatadri in Manipal.
She emphasized the trust placed by the people in the government, allowing them to take charge. She highlighted the government’s efforts to uphold pre-election promises within the first 100 days.
“The Janata Darshan program is being concurrently conducted statewide, demonstrating the government’s commitment to address public grievances. Today’s event is organized at the district level, with the aim of attentively listening to and addressing the concerns of the people,” she said.
“The government and the authorities are here to resolve the problems faced by the people. It is our responsibility to understand and act on these issues,” stated the minister, underscoring her dedication to addressing the district’s challenges as the in-charge minister.
She lauded the Chief Minister’s ambitious Janaspandana program, designed to address the common man’s issues at the local level. Minister Hebbalkar urged authorities to promptly respond to these concerns.
Highlighting the daily influx of individuals seeking assistance from departments like police, forest, health, and revenue, the minister stressed the need to streamline processes and avoid unnecessary delays. She called upon officers to set aside ego and prioritize the well-being of the common man.
During the Janaspandana program today, a total of 143 applications were received. Minister Hebbalkar assured that these matters would be resolved in accordance with the law. For those that require further attention, a specific timeframe for resolution will be communicated. She also announced that in the next district-level Janaspandana program, all applications received on this day will be diligently reviewed within the first hour, and feedback will be sought from the applicants regarding the resolution of their concerns.
Counters were set up to receive various representations from the public, and title deeds of DC Manna land were distributed to deserving beneficiaries at the event.
