Mangalore Physiocon 2023 Inaugurated
Mangaluru, September 08, 2023: Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot emphasized the close relationship between yoga, exercise, and physical therapy, highlighting their collective potential in addressing various bodily issues.
He urged for the integration of yoga alongside physiotherapy to enhance overall wellness.
These remarks were made during the inauguration of the Mangalore Physiocon 2023 International Physiotherapy Conference, organized by the South Canara Physiotherapy Teachers’ Association. The event, coincided with World Physiotherapy Day.
Gehlot lauded the chosen path that seeks to empower individuals facing disabilities and contribute to a healthier society.
Shri Gehlot emphasized the historical significance of physiotherapy as a means to restore mobility, strength, and function in individuals recovering from injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. He highlighted that beyond physical healing, physiotherapy instills mental fortitude in patients to confront challenges.
The growing popularity and acceptance of physiotherapy, further boosted by the Fit India Movement launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, have propelled it to the forefront of modern healthcare. The field of para-medicine, including physiotherapy, is witnessing remarkable growth, offering abundant career opportunities.
Gehlot underscored the escalating demand for qualified physiotherapists in various settings, including orthopaedic clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, fitness facilities, sports complexes, and defense establishments.
